Houston-based rapper, songwriter, and record producer Heroux is a rising star in the world of conscious hip-hop and pop. With his unique artistry and innovative lyrics, Heroux’s musical style has been described as a fusion of traditional rap, hip hop, contemporary R&B, Lo-Fi, and dark ambience. Using his voice to spread the wisdom of the creator, Heroux’s eternal goal is to lead and enlighten the “children of the sun” with his music, imparting divine knowledge of life, truth, and the powers of manifestation.
Aside from his music career, Heroux is also the Education Manager for the Music Lab at Jefferson Center. With the goal of helping kids become better people through musical experiences, Heroux and his team are dedicated to providing educational opportunities that promote creativity, self-expression, and personal growth.
In early June of 2021, Heroux (Brian P. Waites) launched his label Cult 9 Records with the intent to expand on a community of artists whose primary focus, among other things, is to produce positive change for the world around them. Totally immersed in his spiritual wisdom, Heroux adopted his name after the Egyptian God “Horus (or) Heru”, whose name means “he who is above” and “he who is distant”. Being the primordial source of power to our galaxy and the “giver of life” to all of God’s creations, Heroux believes that the primary purpose of religious worship was centered around two divine lights: the one without (the sun) and the one within (the soul).
