The Rev. Sean David Burch grew up in the Washington, D.C. foster care system and
raised in Maryland at the age of two years old. Rev. Burch journeyed and graduated from Prince
George’s County School system and after high school he attended college. Rev. Burch is married
to the gorgeous M. Anita Burch, and from their union they have two beautiful daughters, Amore’
and Selena Burch.

On July 10, 2004, under the leadership of late Pastor Herman Word, Rev. Burch
acknowledged his call and was licensed to preach. He served faithfully at Ebenezer Baptist
Church as an Associate Minister, Adult and Youth Sunday school teacher, Youth Bible Study
teacher, and Wednesday evening van driver. While under the tutelage of Pastor Word, Rev.
Burch learned sermon preparation, biblical doctrine and the ordinances of the Baptist church,
wedding and funeral officiating, pastoral ministry, and meeting facilitation.

The Spirit of God inspired Rev. Burch to study diligently for ordination. Rev. Herman
Word served as catechizer and on August 30, 2009, after examination by the church and council,
he was ordained by Pastor Lee Pusha, current Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. In September
of 2009, Rev. Burch was installed as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Amsterdam serving
there for almost seven years now. Also, in 2009, he accepted the role of high school teacher for
the Missionary District Bible School Convention where he taught the Word of God in practical,
creative and relevant ways. Rev. Burch was later elected to the executive committee of the
Missionary District Bible Sunday School Convention currently serving as Youth Director
(Officer).

Rev. Burch matriculated and graduated from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology
at Virginia Union University located in Richmond, Virginia where he earned his Master of
Divinity (May 2017). Currently, Rev. Burch works for Roanoke City Public Schools as a Site
Coordinator for 21 st Century Community Learning Center after school program at Garden City
Elementary School. Also, he was recently approved to serve as a board member of Habitat of
Humanity (2023). Rev. Burch he has a heart for God, family, youth, and community.
