Trish was Born and raised in Chipley, Florida. Trish has been married to Colbert Boyd for 28 years and has 2 Sons and 5 Stepdaughters and two grandsons. She is a graduate of Averett University, an active member of Garden of prayer #7, President of Star City Management Services, Owner and Director, Blue Ridge Senior Services, and May of this year she celebrated 16 years as a small business owner. She is also a Certified Senior Advisor.
Since moving to Roanoke in 1984, she has been an active member of the community. She began with the school system where she served as PTA President at William Ruffner Middle School for 3 consecutive years, a member of the Roanoke Valley Democratic Women, a community activist and organizer. She received the “Grassroots” award for the 6th Congressional District in 2012 for her role as an organizer for President Obama’s presidential campaign in 2007. Trish is a past board member for the Local Area on Aging and was appointed to the Roanoke Higher Education Authority by Governor McAuliffe 2014-2018, she’s an active member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, The Links, Inc., The Girlfriends Inc., the NAACP, and the Roanoke City Democratic Committee. She was appointed to Roanoke City Council in January of 2019 and was elected as Vice Mayor in November 2020. She enjoys biking, traveling, cooking, reading, and long walks.
