Amazetta Anderson has been an active community advocate in the City of Roanoke, Virginia since 1986.
She was instrumental in community empowerment of low income residents, through training them to establish Tenants Associations and receive funding entitled to the residents for their representation, utilizing the community re-investment act.
Ms. Anderson co-founded Tenants Building Bridges, Inc. an organization which linked renters to resources and understanding their rights and Crime Prevention.
Also a former member of The Virginia State Clients Council, an arm of the Legal Aid Society.
Since retiring as a Housing Rehabilitation Specialist, she remains active in the community as a volunteer community gardener.
She is a proud member of the city Fair Housing Board and member of the Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates Committee.
She also serves with youth development as a member of Community Artsreach.
